US President Barrack Obama has invited President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto to a ceremony in White House to be held later this year.
According to a source close to the US consulate in Nairobi, President Obama sent invitation letters to the two leaders requesting them to attend the African Heads of State dinner organised by White House.
The source said the US President was happy with the way Kenyans conducted the last poll and he wants to thank the two leaders for preaching peace and reconciliation before and after the March 4th poll.
Uhuru and Ruto are accused of heinous crimes at the International Criminal Court (ICC) and this might open another debate in the US, when President Obama meets the two leaders.
But political experts and analysts have argued that Obama has the right to meet the two leaders accused at ICC since America itself is not a member of the ICC.
